Lyrics

It’s a long road
Headlights in the distance are burning out my eyes
So many miles to go, but I was right on time
I must have missed the signpost screaming
Beware dead end,
but I was driving into the darkness and just trying to make the bend.
There’s blindness in the journey when you’re driving through the night
Miles they make no difference when your leading from the heart
And the radio it crackles,
Like a voice from another world
Tempting me like a beacon - as I just tried to make the curve
The more I see the less I know- One thing that’s certain
It’s a long long road
I’ll give this two years max – famous last words
Now there’s things I can’t unsee and songs still begging to be heard
Now I’m riding in a classic that’s clocked up some miles
Surrounded by mere babies - with stars burning in their eyes
I got dents and chips and road miles- lines upon my face
And wisdom in my pocket from the things that I can’t change
The more I see the less I know- One thing that’s certain
It’s a long long road

Will I go down in the darkness just before the dawn
Will anything mean anything for all the fuel I burned
Flash, there is goes, another star, across the desert sky
So I turn up the radio and drive on in the night
The more I see the less I know- One thing that’s certain
It’s a long long road
The horizon’s so much closer though it still is dark
I got fuel in the tank - and a heart still full of spark
